Native cotoneaster? species?

    What species of cotoneaster is this, if it is indeed a cotoneaster? found on an island up indian arm.

    Not sure what it is, but fairly sure it isn't a Cotoneaster (and if it was, it would be naturalised, not native, in Canada! - the genus is wholly Old World in distribution). For a provisional guess, I'd say something in the family Ericaceae, perhaps Arctostaphylos. Can you get a close-up of the foliage?

    after doing some looking i think it is an Arctostaphylos! Thank You... now too find out the species may be a little harder... >< i will put up an image of the foliage as soon as i can... thanks for the help!
