Mystery plant

    When this volunteer came up in one single stalk with big leaves up the stem I thought it was a sunflower.. as it grew and those side leaves turned into side branches I realized it wasn't. The buds have been there for weeks and look like there have opened at the top ..little green 'flowers'. It reminds me of what a giant pigweed might look like..

    Looks like Chenopodium sp. to me.

    Cyclachaena xanthiifolia I believe.

    Looks like you have got it.. Cyclachaena xanthiifolia looks the most likely suspect
