I found this pretty little thing just blooming away in the yard this morning all by its self. Any Florida folks or anybody else know what it is?

My knee-jerk reaction is Crocus. Certainly, it's within the Lily family.

Thanks guys for the info….this flower showed up just like it said …first a good rain then a good drying out. I’m debating should I dig it up and put it in a pot? Some of the websites were claiming that you can only get it to bloom with rainwater not with tap water or is the real trick in the drying out period that triggers it.

Probably it's a combination of both; rainwater has fairly unique mineral properties that you can't really approach using tap or distilled... I'd either leave it where you found it, or else move it to a bed where you'd like to see it, after it puts up its leaves. If you are going to pot it up, then you should at least be collecting rain to water it with.
