Mystery 9 foot Orchid like flower...indentify?

Hi I have been invaded by this plant which loves the really wet corner of my yard. It is 9 feet easily at its tallest, very thick at the base yet hollow. Grows all over the place in my yard now. Can't figure out what it is...any thoughts?

 

impatiens glandulifera

it has many common names and I know it as Policeman's helmet or himalayan balsam. in some parts it is an invasive alien species.

Picture a stand like yours filling a stream and you can see why we no like out here.
