More flowers from Penzance

    I've continued going through our Penzance (zone 9) pictures and am now trying to figure out what this is. Yes, it is as big as it looks in the photo, probably close to 10' tall - a *very* awesome plant. I think it is an Eremurus, but don't know which one.

    Echium pininana - yes, that is the right plant. I'm not finding any references to it in any of my local books and I've never seen one growing here, probably because there isn't any easy way to get it through our local winter.
