My favorite tree, the Monkey Tree in the back yard, was just broken by the wind storm roaring through our area. Is there anything to be done to save the tree? There are still some limbs attached to the trunk which broke about 2/3 of the way down.....can I root the smaller limbs? I know it's an evergreen, and it would not be a simple task, but my mom and dad planted the tree when I was a little girl and I would just hate to loose it! Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

It should grow a new trunk from where it broke. It is one of the few conifers able to do so.
