We bought a property in Vancouver BC with a monkey tree in the front yard. The house is 11 years ago and the tree was not planted by the builder, so we think it is about 7-9 years old based upon older photos of the property. The tree is ‘north facing.’ The tree has been vibrant green with regular new growth at its base for the few years we have lived here until earlier this year when we noticed it starting to yellow. As many of us experienced, vancouver had a hot hot summer followed by a nippy winter, with prolonged below freezing temperatures and lots of snow (for us) My question is: Is my monkey tree going to recover? I don’t want to be hasty in assuming that it has died.
