Have not been able to identify this one, growing in a neighbor's yard in the SF Bay area. The seed pods are reminiscent of Dietes, but the flowers are wrong. Thought it might be Aristea, but plant does not seem to be too drought tolerant.

The leaves are strap-like, growing to about 3.5 feet, with a single central vein. Flowers are 2 to 3 inches across and last for about a week. The entire plant seems to grow from a single, very large corm. At least, I was not able to quickly find any divisions. The flesh of the corm is quite white.

    Thanks!

Irises don't have the same size, shape and orientation of petals throughout the flower.
