Love this flower, just don't know what it is!

    This plant bloomed in IL middle of May -- just 1 bloom about 5" in diameter -- though I believe the plant has been in the ground a couple years -- the leaves are approx 6-8" long - sharply and finely toothed. Chrysanthemum? Aster? I really don't have a clue. Would appreciate any assistance.

    Thank you so much -- now I can add it to my database (the only way I can keep track of my plants). And, with the genus I was even able to google it and determine the species (filipendula vulgaris) and common name (Fern Leaf Dropwort) . Now I have no excuse learning how to track care of it!

    I do love the pic, I added it to my desktop favorites.
