Last year I purchased some timber bamboo through a private sale (the yard was nothing but bamboo) but in the root ball was a small plant that evidently is perennial (at least here). The plant is now about 45 cm tall but when it started to grow this spring the leaves were almost purple. In recent weeks the leaves have changed to green and now I see a small single yellow flower under the leaves.
    Can anyone identify this plant?
