Found this loner in the corner of my garden. Is it poison ivy?

That's "leaflets three, let it be".

Yes it is indeed poison ivy but there are a wide variety of other plants that have three leaflets too.

Yes! That is what I'm finding out as I scroll through these pages. I am amazed at all the knowledge that comes out of this forum.

Thanks for the ID guys. Now I know what it looks like, which is a good thing. Except that I have to go remove it!

You might want to poison this one to get rid of the roots. I just used Roundup foam on some, and it took care of it.

I do have some roundup on hand. There is a gorgeous butterfly bush just outside the frame of the above photo. Do you think using roundup on the poison ivy will hurt it?

It won't hurt your butterfly bush, if you just spray, or dab the roundup on to the leaves of the poison ivy. If it is windy be careful of the spray drifting.

Thanks for the info! I will definitely watch for the wind-- Roundup has worked wonders on the weeds that grow up from under our patio bricks, but I haven't tried it yet in any of the garden beds.
