We have an abundance of kiwis on our tree this year but do not know when to harvest them and the best process for ripening them. Unfortunately, we do no know the variety.

    Thank you for any advice.

Big and fuzzy or small and smooth?

At this stage they are slightly smaller than what you see in the store and are fuzzy. I have just taken a picture which I could send you as soon as I figure out how to attach a photo.

Actinidia deliciosa. Can be picked and ripened indoors. Try surfing strings like kiwi ripening storage. Look to be on the small side, you can get them pretty large in this region. Ones that used to be on frames at WSU Mt Vernon station were like eggs.

Thanks Ron. Should I leave them on the vine for a couple more months till they get bigger before bringing them indoors to ripen?

I think I've seen picking and bringing in during October mentioned, but it's not something I've done myself. November, the stormiest month of the year here, is when things turn foul. Would not expect leaving them out that late to work out well.
