I'm hoping someone can help me..This popped up in my front garden and is growing quite quickly. It showed up last year and now it's over 5 ft tall and has gargantuan heart shaped leaves but no blooms. I've looked online and think I know what it is but just want to confirm. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

That's what I thought too! It's quite funny actually, when we bought this house 3 years ago, it didn't have a garden or trees. I put in a big garden and 4 trees last year. An empress was the very first tree I had on my master list of things to plant but had difficulty finding one in a nursery etc. so I went with my other options. Now it looks like one has magically appeared! Very bizarre!

So now my question is, it has multiple stalks.. Do I cut them back to create a single trunk tree?

Save the taller one and cut the others.
