Is this Mullein / Mugwort

    Found this at the side of the road, and it looks like a version of mullein (according to Foster's Medicinal herbs of the southeast) but it is not exactly.

    Anyway, can anybody positively ID it?

    A mullein, perhaps Verbascum nigrum (Dark Mullein).

    Thanks. Yes, from what I see on the web about it, it looks like it is. At least it's not a poisonous plant right? :)

    It isn't listed as very toxic, but I wouldn't try eating a lot! Likely tastes revolting anyway.
