Hi all. I'm visiting northern Virginia right now and have located this plant. I am hoping it is gotu kola but am not certain of this identification. It might even be two different plants, because some leaves have more of a rounded shape and some are more conical. Could you folks please help me out? If it's not gotu kola I'd like to know what it is! Thanks for your time and insight...
I don't think what you suggested grows in Virginia (but someone, please correct me if I'm wrong). If I saw this, my first guess is that it was a kind of violet.
Hi all. I'll add a habitat shot if I can get one on my next visit. In the meantime, thank you! Since native violet isn't dangerous to ingest, I tasted the leaves, and they don't taste like I remember gotu kola tasting...so I think they are the violet.
