Is this a weed?

    This plant is growing in a few places around the back yard.

    It does not match any of the existing shrubs that were put there, so it didn't get there from seeds of the landscaping plants.

    I am wondering what it is.

    I'd never heard of cudweed (Gnaphalium) before so looked it up and found some interesting facts about it, one of which is that "cudweeds are important foodplants for American painted lady caterpillars (Vanessa cardui). Have you ever seen butterflies like this flitting around? (Photo from Wikipedia.)

    Thanks. I see its common name is Rabbit Tobacco.

    Do you know if bees like it?
