Is This A Weed or A Flower

    Can anyone identify this plant for me? This is our first spring in a new house and we aren't sure if this is a plant or a weed. I would like to get rid of it if it is a weed.

    Help! This is embarassing.

    I agree, a flower, unless you don't want it there. Looks like a bachelor's button.

    Isn't bachelors button an annual? This plant came up early spring and just now started blooming so I believe it is a perennial.

    This is the perennial Centaurea montana and not the annual C. cyaneus shown at above link.
