Is this a Stokes Aster?

    There was no identification tag on this plant - but there was a terrific Crab Spider with prey!!

    Looks like one, even has the same spines on the foliage immediately below the flowerhead.

    Crab spiders seem to often end up with bees, I suspect it has something to do with the bees always being, as they say busy - possibly some other insects are more wary. It looks as though this bee had its head down, probing the disk florets, and pointed at the spider which had simply to move over a bit and grab it.

    Or, it could just be that many of the insects visiting flowers are bees.
