Someone gave this iris to my mother last year, and now it is flowering. She particularly likes it and wishes to know what group it belongs to so she can look after its cultural needs, drainage etc.

We are familiar with most groups of iris that can be grown in UK gardens, apart from Pacific Coast Irises, and initial research is pointing us in that direction. The plant is 12 inches high, and the flower is about 3 inches across on a narrow stem. The leaves are dark green and straplike and I think the foliage was evergreen.

    Thanks

Thanks. I think where it is growing now will suit it fine, and I'll tell her it will be worth saving some seed.
