    Hello
This flower is only about 5-7 mm across. The seed pod was a total surprise. It seems that the flower stem dries out, curls and splits open to reveal "dandelion like" seed pods.

I would appreciate it if someone was able to provide it's identity.

    cheers
    Stew

It's a willowherb of some sort (genus Epilobium unless it's been switched). There are a few candidates, but to decipher between them, one needs to know whether the plant is annual / perennial (I'm guessing annual). If annual, the height of the plant and the length of the seeds are necessary. If perennial, well, things get a bit more complicated.

    Thank you Daniel.
I took a look around the internet and see what you mean. There are many varieties. I have a few images of this flower and plan on adding one to my website as a Willowherb. The next time I am by the site I will try and gather a bit more info and repost to see if we can find out which it is.

    Cheers

The characteristics I'm pointing out, by the way, are from the identification keys in the Illustrated Flora of BC. The perennial side of the key is fairly extensive, with the first couplet being stigma 4-lobed or stigma smooth or 4-angled, to give an example.
