As I mentioned earlier, all kinds of uninvited plants grow in my front yard until near the end of April when the St. Augustine has thickened enough to smother them. This is one of the many uninvited. I think I've identified this wildflower but since I'm so inept at figuring out what plants are I'd like to get my identification verified.
As an aside: wildflowers are found in the wild. Marking a plant as such on these forums helps identifiers restrict the possibilities to native or introduced plants for a particular locale. If something is in a gardening or yard or urban situation, it expands the range of possibilities to all plants that can grow in an area from around the world, meaning horticultural / gardening knowledge is needed.
I understood that. If you're referring to the plant in this thread it is a wildflower or maybe a weed, however you like to think of it. I tried to explain in my introduction that it grows in the yard with other unwelcome weeds until the St. Augustine grass chokes it out then returns the next winter/spring.
