    Something in the cypress family Cupressaceae, probably a species of either Cupressus or Juniperus, but too young to tell what for certain. Probability suggests Monterey Cypress Cupressus macrocarpa as perhaps the most likely.

    That one has a pretty assertive fruity smell when brushed against, you might try touching it and see if it gives off such an aroma. The yellowishness of it might also be a hint, as yellow forms of Monterey cypress are prevalent in gardens.
