Dears Please read the below link, have any one tried the Apple Apps. for identifying the plants http://www.express.co.uk/life-style...PlantSnapp-identify-plant-flower-Apple-iPhone
It will be interesting to know just how accurately it can be with some of the rare, weird and wonderful plants from all over the world that are id'd by humans on these forums. Humans who have spent years learning how to id a conifer from just a cone. Or a weed from just a few leaves.
I agree. It's interesting idea but there is just no match for the human brain imo. I just can't see this as being as good as the the united brain power of all us plant enthusiasts put together. But it will probably work fine for the easier stuff.
Description at above link says questions will be answered by live humans. It all sounds quite like a duplication of the existing Free Garden Compass App - in other words direct competition for them. Many of the queries handled by Garden Compass originate in Britain so it is a bit incomplete to report on the PlantSnapp resource as though it is a novelty or innovation not seen in that market before. http://www.gardencompass.com/
