I'm new to cacti really....I had a ready made cactus garden for a few years until one of my cats destroyed it but now I'm trying to set my own up... however I'm running into the problem of no information on species, requirements, etc on the plants I have... I just planted them into something large enough... but I can't find the exact species they are to see how well all the types match up in terms of care and light needed. So if anyone could help it would be much appreciated it. I have at least 1 pic of each plant....to which I will post links. Any help would be appreciated and any tips would also be very much welcome...Now for the links: http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Cacti1.jpg http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Cacti12.jpg http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Cacti2.jpg http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Cacti21.jpg http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Cacti3.jpg http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Succulent1.jpg http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Succulent12.jpg http://www.bysable.com/Lucien/images/Cacti/Succulent13.jpg Again, any help is appreciated. I believe Cacti 3 and Cacti 1 are the same species just a different color mutation...or something similar. I'm not certain so I'll let people more knowledgeable than me answer these.. Thanks Luc
The succulent might be an Aeonium? For the others; the brightly coloured ones are grafted plants, with a chlorophyll-free cultiver grafted onto the stem of a different cactus (which has to do all the photosynthesis work!). Try looking here for identification: http://www.cactiguide.com/
Thanks for the reply... I did find out the succulent is Echeveria from the site you recommended...but I'm still working out what the actual cacti are on the other 3... the 2 brightly colored ones have the same type of base cacti so they're probably the same species... its that 3rd tall one I haven't been able to find yet.. the bright red flowers above it are fake.. they're glued on... I'm trying to figure out how to get them off without damaging the plant itself.. or my fingers for that matter *L*
