These flower seed heads were on the same walk as earlier, taken today. abit higher up the mountain at about 150 metres. They are growing in heath land and are surounded by course grasses, mosses and young heathers. One picture shows how the plant grows in groups the other is a closeup of the seed heads. This orange is the natural colour. The flower stems grow straight from the ground but have some blade like leaves also growing straight from the ground, the leaves are approx 8-10 cm long and the flower spikes roughly 30cm long. I say seed heads because close up there appears to be the remenants of dried flower heads surounding each "pod". Again my mum recons that they are a type of orchid.
