    Hi
We saw this yellow and white flower on a ridge above the Smokey River (near junction with Peace River) in Northern Alberta. What is it?

The outer petals of the flower were pure white not a pale shade of yellow.
Is this a known variant of this species?

I've seen them this pale, yes. The species is fairly variable.
