Hi everyone. Thanks for letting me in the forum. I took this picture near Berlin, Germany - It is, as you can see, a small tree with flowers. Does anyone have any clue on what species this could be....? Any clue would be apreciated. Cheers João Oliveira
Welcome, Joao. I can't see the details very well, but it looks like a purple leaf plum, Prunus cerasifera. Is this in bloom now?
Agree with Purple-leaved Plum Prunus cerasifera 'Pissardii' or 'Nigra' (or other similar cultivar). I'd estimate the photo was taken some time in April; definitely not today!
I think that the temperatures in Lisboa is about 10° at night and 18° in the afternoon at the moment, so some varieties of Prunus might well be flowering there right now...
