Wildflowers: ID for an unidentified grass is requested

    Hello,
    This grass was photographed last January in Israel, growing on a roadside lawn. It is new (probably introduced) to Israel and not included in its flora. I believe this is a Brachiaria Sp. and ask for verification and precise species ID.

    I agree that is likely Brachiaria. As to species, that looks like a challenge to say the least. I suggest finding someone who has done a scientific paper on the genus or similar research, and approaching them directly.

    We are working on it and indeed looking for an expert for the New World grasses or specifically the Brachiaria species.
