I think a lot of these are past their peak bloom now, but we have berries to look for, and we can still look for the Phileostegia viburnoides to bloom in September.
Kind of an odd topic, considering how few people are going to have a suitable situation for this - or are going to be inclined to emulate it. Rather than English woodland gardens nowadays it's so often dinky yards around packed-in houses, with few or no trees. Woody plants have become a hard sell, with vegetables and herbaceous ornamentals being the big draws at garden centers.
