Welcome to UBC forums! First you must have a go with id yourself. That way you will learn and remember. Note where you saw the flower...garden, meadow, woodland, river bank, bog, mountain top etc. Plants tend to have a zone where they will grow happily. What time of year did you find it..flowers have a season...you would not expect to find a snowdrop in August! Start with the colour of the flowers. What shape is the flower...is it bell shaped or like a daisy. Is it a long poker shape with multiple flowers...or are the flowers solitary. https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/dsc_6109-cimicifuga.jpg https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/dsc02871.jpg Look at the detail...how many petals does the flower have. Are the petals symetrical or does it have 3 petals at the bottom and 2 at the top..or are all petals are at the bottom. https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/dsc02914.jpg https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/dsc_6071.jpg https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/dsc_6009-rudbeckia.jpg How tall is it...maybe just a few inches or a giant of 6ft. https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/pict5963.jpg https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/dsc_0489aruncus.jpg What are the leaves like...round or thin like a ribbon. https://uswildflowers.com/images/full/pict7717.jpg etc etc.etc etc Try using this brilliant site...it lists approx 350 flowers which grow in New Jersey. The internet is truly amazing for seeing clear detail...but can also have wrong info. US Wildflower's Database of Wildflowers for New Jersey US Wildflower - Bluebell Bellflower, Bluebell, Harebell, Bluebell-of-Scotland, Blue Rain Flower, Heathbells, Witches Thimbles - Campanula rotundifolia campanula rotundifolia - Google Search We are all willing to HELP you ...We are not here to do all the work for you! I suggest you post a good clear pic with your thoughts and we can help if you get it wrong. Live plants pics are far easier than dried, pressed, withered specimens It is much easier if you just do a couple of flowers at a time. Good luck. The clues are all there. Think of it as exciting detective work...not boring homework!
