I wonder if anyone knows what plant this is....it grows wild in the southern states, small vine with tiny thorns, that blooms a small (dime size), pink, powder-puff flower with a strong fragrance.
I was in Atlanta, at a ranch and saw the flowers in the grass, along a trail. The scent immediately brought back memories of picking these flowers when I was little on my grandparents acreage in Ruskin, FL.
I have never been able to find out what it is. Thanks.

Maybe Uncaria? Did it look like this?

thanks - the flower does look like it, but the rest of the plant does not.

it grew along in the grass and the actual leaves and rest of the plant were also very small and not very noticeable.
could there be any other plant with this flower that grows in rural FL and GA in the US?
