I have a staghorn sumac in my yard. under it are some rods about 2 feet high growing. They are fuzzy and soft with some soft bud type things on either side. They have no branches.

    What is this?

    thanks!

Seems we had sprouts from our own Staghorn Sumac which fit your description. May likely be from the root system.

Compare with branch tips on tree. If suckers leaves will also be the same once these come out this year.
