Can anyone suggest what kind of clematis this may be? It appears to grow on a single, woody stalk, approximately the same size as a pencil at the base. It's growing through a cedar hedge that's aprox 6-7 feet high. I suspect it's a Montana, but not sure past that. Possibly the Broughton Star? I'm hoping to identify it so I can keep it healthy and know if/when to prune it. Thank you!
Pruning etc. will be pretty much the same for all Clematis montana regardless of cultivar. Otherwise, take flowers and leaves to local outlets with full lines of climbers on display to look for a match.
