Help Identify this tree

    I ran into this tree at the 4 Seasons resort on the island of Nevis in the West Indies. Can any one help identify it. The locals called it a cotton wood because at times of the year it flowers and spreads its seeds like cotton all over the property..

    A species of Ceiba or Bombax (closely related to each other).

    Trying to find a sauce for the tree. Would like to plant one in my garden on the island

    Try it with mushroom sauce, or cream sauce ;-)

    Just collect some of the seeds out of the cotton, and sow them.

    Thanks, i'll try it. If it doesn't work the mushroom "sause" may be my next best step... Lol

    Not liable to survive the winters where you are, if your intent is to grow it outdoors.

    He does say in his garden on the island (i.e., on Nevis)
