I bought this 6 weeks ago tagged as a Zone 4 Luzula 'Starmaker', but it obviously isn't. I suspect that it's a pennisetum, which would not be hardy in my Zone 5b garden.
The leaves were totally dark purple when I got it and were very stiff, but are now showing a little green at the bottom and are softer.
The "flowers" opened as a rich rosy purple but are now showing more white.
I'm REALLY hoping that someone can identify this as a more hardy perennial.
