Haskap ???? Anyone know what this is?

    This shrub produces berries, and was bequeathed to a friend in Saanich after being propagated in a nursery - unfortunately the name of the shrub was lost in translation.

    It looks most like Haskap, which produces fruit that look like elongated berries, but needs cross-pollination by another variety so the current owner has never seen berries. The leaves however look more leathery and glossy than the pictures of Haskap I've been able to dig up online, although I understand there are a number of varieties of Haskap (honey berry).

    Anyone recognize it?

    Usually when we see those here they have the closely spaced leaves of the shorter order shown in many views at the above link. And an upswept habit with vertical branches from a small size, as do nursery sized plants of Azara microphylla - I think the plant asked about here is instead Myrtus communis.
