Geranium maderense?

    Looks like geranium bush! Geranium maderense?

    Looks like it. But I don't remember how to tell it from the other species of this same general character that is grown in western gardens.

    If you are down in/towards San Diego be sure to check out the delightful San Diego Botanical Garden just east of the freeway, in Encinatas. If you have not been there already, you will see the same/similar geranium. Another great place, again right on the coast - actually at the beach, in this case - is the Torrey Pines State Preserve.

    I consider both of these essential destinations for people who appreciate interesting plants and plantings/natural places containing striking plants. If you make it to the preserve be sure to look for the small, restored population of Agave shawii.
