Just back from a 15 days tour to China. At Shanghai, there are lots of roadside trees with pinkish red flowers. The tour guide said these are not local trees, but introduced from other countries. As we sped along the highways, this is what I could manage shooting through the window glass. Wonder if it's appropriate to post non-local trees. Please feel free to delete the post if it's against the rule.
Thank you very much indeed. I found another one I shot in Lingering Garden in Suzhou. It was taken during sunset. The pinkish red flowers had a wash of yellow from the setting sun. That's why I missed this when I posted the thread.
The flowers are actually yellow...hence common name Golden rain tree..or Pride of India. It is the seed capsules that are a beautiful red. koelreuteria paniculata flowers - Google Search koelreuteria paniculata seed capsules - Google Search
