While wandering about Rottnest Island (Western Australia) last weekend (Dec07) I snapped a shot of this little beauty. A tiny flower no larger than a small coin atop a succulent ground cover. The locals had taken great care to ensure that visitors didn't crush these plants, I got the feeling that perhaps they were rare or perhaps just delicate. I was told it might be some kind of Aizoaceae and indeed it was nestled in amongst some Carpobrutus, but I am having difficulties. Maybe it is common and I am just not using the right keywords. Any help would be much appreciated.

Looks like Mesembryanthemum crystallinum, it is not native in Australia...
