Can anyone help me identify this flower, growing wild in Southern Arizona desert. I realize you do not have the complete plant including the foliage, but it was growing close to the ground, from a plant similar to a Yucca. Any positive identification or help getting me started would be appreciated.

Erythrina, check out E. edulis. It's interesting that you think the plant looked like a Yucca; when they have leaves they most closely resemble Poplars or Aspens.

Erythrina flabelliformis is native to Arizona.
