Pretty sure I've got the right genus--It's from around Hwy 35 between Aransas and Corpus Christi in Texas, bloomed in April. Any idea which species? Thanks!

Probably a vervain which is a Verbena, and not a Verbena, which is a Glandularia, of which some are mock vervain--usually, but not always. Confusing?

I thought Verbena sp had 5 petals. This has 6.

Looks like a verbena. Does not look like a buckwheat.
