Just out of curiosity . . . what had happened to the forums the last 3 days?

Yeah, really! I thought maybe that huge meteor in Edmonton had wiped out the forums.

Shouldn't have - Edmonton is more than 500 km away from the UBC. Daniel knows, I'm sure...

A great disturbance in the Force. Perhaps Daniel needed a consultation with his jedi mentor. Even in this day/age, intergalactic travel takes time. Three days, apparently.

No, the IT folks at the University decided to do some networking upgrades without telling the IT folks in the Faculty.

Ergo, no plans were in place to reboot the server after the network was brought down (well, actually reset the Universal Power Supply which would've led to the server rebooting).

Well, I am glad to see that it was not a giant wet-weather spreading rampant groundcover with roots reaching into every corner! Have been too busy to log on, then noticed the Forum wasn't up and runnng, and was worried...
