Our dogwood looks like it is dyeing. It bloomed fine and then recently the leaves started turning brown and curling. It started on the bottom branches and spread to the top. I do not see any pest on the leaves or brown spots. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would hate to lose this beautiful tree.

    Maybe Discula destructiva (Dogwood anthracnose)?

Perhaps there is a borer in the lower stem or a canker on it. Nearby Indiana Cooperative Extension office may be able to identify problem. They will need samples, if the affected section looks dead maybe just cut the whole branch off and take it in.
