My sister in the Boston, MA, area sent these pictures to me asking if I knew what they were. I didn't but I'm hoping that someone on this forum might.

    Thanks!

Resembles bladder senna (Colutea arborescens). There are about 25 species in the genus, if not C. arborescens maybe another Colutea.

Thank you! I'm sure this is at least the correct genus. I did manage to find pix of several other genuses (is that the correct plural?) besides arborescens. The closest ones I found are C. cilicica and C. istria and I'm leaning toward C. cilicica except for the orangish starburst marking. Maybe there are some other color variations. Anyway, here is a link to some Google images: http://images.google.com/imgres?img...&hl=en&lr=&rls=GGLG,GGLG:2006-24,GGLG:en&sa=N

    Thanks again,
