Does Anyone Know What These Plants Are?

    I found all of these plants in inland San Diego, California. I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me what these plants are. Additional information about each of the plants is provided below if it helps with identification.

    Plant 1:

    Grows in large numbers, and can be found almost anywhere where there is lots of sun. Dying/old plants have black flowers and brown stems. Typically around 1 meter in height.

    Plant 2:

    Also grows in large numbers, and found where there is lots of sun. Mature plants range from 1 - 2 meters in height.

    Plant 3:

    Much less common than plants 1 & 2. Grows where there is slightly more shade, and is typically not found farther than 10 meters from a water source. Average height is 0.3 meters.
