    Hi there,

This these flowers are planted right outside the Scarfe (Education) Library at UBC. They have a lovely smell and I'm wondering if anyone could tell me the name of this flower and if they can be grown indoor, if they're hard to grow and where I can find seeds for them. Thanks so much!

It's Sarcococca, probably Sarcococca hookeriana, but I wouldn't promise that to be right. Here's a forum thread on it. I don't think it's generally used as a houseplant, but I don't know if there's a reason for that. I don't see that aspect mentioned on the few pages I've checked. The lovely (if you like it - it seems not everyone does) fragrance might be very overpowering indoors.

    Hi Wendy,

Thanks for your reply. I'm just wondering if you or anyone know where I can get seeds or even a full grown pot of the Himalayan Sweetbox in Vancouver, BC?

    Thanks!

I don't know whether the plant shops sell these when they're past flowering (the original posting was from early March), but they were in all the shops last month.
