I live in Arizona, and bought a house with 4 of these trees in the front yard. They are evergreen and are 25-30 feet tall. Each trunk is about 10-12 inches in diameter with each tree having two or three trunks at the base. They tend to "weep" when they haven't been pruned, we pruned them last summer so we could see under them. No one seems to know for sure what this is...could someone help?

If you need any other information please let me know!

The tree pictured is African Sumac, Rhus lancea. It is very common in the Phoenix area used as a shade tree or sometimes for screening purposes. It is evergreen and messy. Fruits are found in clusters that tend to remain on the tree. Dense shade is produced that inhibits growth of turf beneath the canopy. Canopy can reach up to 40 feet across.

    Thank you!

A friend of mine in CA has an african sumac that we thought looked very like these, but hers is so much smaller I couldn't tell.

    Thank you again.
