Difficult Asteraceae.

    Found this plant growing in the shade of overhanging trees at an elevation of 910 m.
    Geographic area: Campania, S. Italy. Appreciate any help offered.

    Thanks Salt Cedar and Ron B. Will go through the keys for hieracium. Might be Hieracium lachenalii Gmelin = H. vulgatum Fries. But as is suggested by one of the vols. containing the Hieracium keys, this family is subject to extensive polymorphism.
