Hi all, I have a small decidous plant about two years old that started out from seed and it looks like it could grow to either be a tree or a shrub. It definitely prefers the shade; the leaves will curl up completely if it gets too much sun. The leaves look similar to that of a wild cherry and grow opposite each other. The bark is greyish. Any ideas? Looking forward to finding out what it is so I can find the right spot to plant it!

If there is a walnut tree in the vicinity that is where it came from. Or if you brought in soil to grow peas etc. the as yet ungerminated seed could have come with that.

Thanks Ron! I guess it must have arrived via one of the squirrels.
