My sister got this as a gift. I can't quite identify it, and need a bit of help. Looks sort of like a mum or something daisy-like. What conditions does it need? Also, why are the flowers fading? Thanks.

I agree with Silver Surfer, the leaves are of Chrysanthemum. Try to rub the leaves with fingers and smell it. Chrysanthemum leaves have a very distinctive strong smell. I cannot describe it, but once you smell it, you will never be in doubt.
yes they are chrysanthemum i have had once such type of flowers but on Blue colour. THey are beautiful. Aren't they?
